no, nobody has died. But I think my bike has been stolen. It was in an open-front garage, and is no longer there. (There's a tiny tiny chance I biked it 1-way to work. I'll check that tomorrow, but I have no hopes on that score.)
I'm bummed, but trying to avoid getting uselessly worked up. My orange bike was not taken, so at least I'll still have one to use when the weather gets warmer. I'm more upset about loosing the panniers, because they are incredibly useful and I don't know where to buy that kind (with the large horizontal compartment over the rack). I'm most upset at myself for being dumb and not locking the bike when not using it for extended periods of time. Or, if I had not been lazy, and had brought it down to the shelter of the basement when it first became clear my season was over (2 weeks ago), I'd still have it!
