So, there was some kind of crazy storm (a "micro burst"?) here in my end of town. It happened while I was away at work. Came back, after dark, after grocery shopping, and found tree-limbs down all over. A few whole trees fell, as well.

The London Plane Tree (it's not a sycamore!) in front of our apartment was surprisingly undamaged, relatively speaking. It lost a good number of large branches, but no major limbs. still, I just don't trust that tree...

Nothing appears to have hit the house (or car). We are the last house on our side of the street with power. I'm quite glad to have electricity for the A/C. Oh, and fridge, too.

A family down the street said the power company told them to expect power not until middle of the night tomorrow. Power and phone lines crossed the road way mere feet above the ground at their driveway. The tree one door over from them had folded to the ground, levering up a flat slab of sidewalk. What paltry roots you have, maple tree.

Next street over, a larger tree had twisted around & sheared off impressively. Most of the trees we saw on our walk-around had big piles under them. Several streets are closed. It's quite impressive.

My Fig Tree was unharmed.
