a full weekend
Mar. 4th, 2012 10:25 pmZipped out to Northampton & back (on my own) for a very good friend's baby-shower, which I'd helped organize. saw a pillar of smoke on 91-S on the way there. Shower happened & was very pleasant (for me). Guest of honor also enjoyed, although possibly less than us guests. Well, she is quite pregnant...
Appreciated the extra hour of chat with other in-from-out-of-town good friend and bless L for the hour of nap we shared at her apartment mid-afternoon. Arrived back home about midnight after steady 70 mph cruise --- gotta love late-night non-traffic.
Today, 230+ hamentaschen with Dorie!
Also, heat is coming in and out since Friday. Landlord mentions nothing, although it becomes obvious that he's mid-repair of something with the heater or the oil tank. What a jerk. Jonathon feels differently, but to me, their lack of basic communication is these landlords' biggest flaw. Upstairs neighbor shares that he walked in on landlord working in basement over the weekend and inquired as to asked what's up (since heat had gone off & back at least once by then). The reply: "Nothing. Nothing's up!" with strong subtext of "leave me alone".
In the meantime, thank goodness for warm quilts (and co-sleeping partner) and the fact that I sleep better anyway in a chilly room.
So, sigh, our asses are duly en-geared: we have a first appointment with a home-buyers-agent tomorrow. I agree it's a useful step, but ... I really don't want to deal with this right now!
In other news, benefited from gracious Shabbat dinner invite this past Friday, and finished the core of the prep for upcoming company conference. Whew.
