Thank goodness for "The Doctor's Wife", to clear away the miasma of suck from the pair of unpleasant "The Silence" episodes and the lame predictable "Pirates" episode.
(Although in an interesting note, I later learned that the pirate captain Henry Avery is a historical figure.)
No spoilers, but "The Doctor's Wife" was so good! Lots of great lines. And good characters.
