my weekend
Apr. 24th, 2006 06:26 pmSaturday's party was fun. Was sufficiently party-like that I was happy.
Then the next day was Patience strike. Yes, I caught the matinee show before commencing breaking things down.
First step is to remove all the audience's chairs. I like the motion of stacking the chairs -- scoop em up, dump em down, whirled over the stack-tops whua! Sorting them correctly comes naturally now, and I am getting much better at not getting the legs tangled when I add them to a stack.
Then I did "ground crew" for lights, ie shoved around a big scaffold on wheels so that the people in it could take down lights from the ceiling. Once again, I forgot to bring a book (although I have two great new ones!). Luckily J lent me a spare knitting project to mess around with. I did very little with it because the available conversation was more engaging than usual.
Also I shifted a full rolly-cart full of the risers called "germans" all by myself because it needed to get moved out of the way into the hallway. It was heavy. I was useful. Go me!
I got to take a turn up in the top of the rolling scaffold, and that was pretty fun, too. Cheesey was up too and he's got a good humor.
dzmonster was there, too. I hooked her up with the set crew, which seems more to her taste than lights. Danielle/Jeraliey came too, but left early and I didn't see.
Tonight is B5 night and I am procrastinating cleaning up for it (by posting lj).
