no gift certificates, no problem
Jan. 8th, 2003 10:14 pmMy brother's friend is turning 18 this week, and Noam thought up a great idea for his gift. There's an "adult entertainment" store that opened up across the bridge a few years ago (local scandal tried to close it down but lost), which of course you can only shop at if you are not a minor --- ie over eighteen. They decided to get a gift certificate for their friend from the store, since he could now shop there!
But,,, neither my brother nor the pal who went in with him on the gift are old enough yet to get into the store, so that's where I got to come in.
Heh hee! I love helping out my brother. It's so rare that there is something I can genuinely use my Older-Sister-hood (tm) on productively.
Grabbed my ID and vroom we are off to the porn store.
I'd not been in there before, so I took a few moments to walk around, then went to the counter to ask to buy, only to be shot down. "No," they just don't offer gift certificates =( how disappointing.
End of the story is that I picked up a business card, which my bro will attach to an envelope cleverly decorated to look like a gift certificate. "To redeem this certificate, remove enclosed money and present to clerk along with photo-ID."
