broken fridge
Sep. 21st, 2012 09:37 amYesterday our fridge took ill. Luckily, Jonathon was home to notice.
(It may have been coming down with something for a while... I remember taking a frozen arepa from the freezer and being surprised at how immediately-nommable it was. Still had ice-crystals, mind, but it was not as stiff-frozen as I had expected.) ((Yes, I usually try to nip a still-frozen bite off of my arepas as a matter of course, while I decide "microwave? or frypan?" before heating them. Don't you???))
Anyway, we have moved essentials to the old dorm-fridge (pressed back into service), and into a friend's freezer. Landlord should be coming by today this morning between 10-12 with a replacement.
We told him *not* to come last night, because I really didn't want to cancel the review-appointment with our photographers and also because, frankly, it seemed a low probability that a fridge would *actually* show up that same evening so better not to expect it.
... Speaking of, as it is nearly 10, I ought to go and get changed. Just in case.
(Stupidly, I have forgotten to carry home the work laptop last night, so I *cannot* implement my plan of working from home today, so as to be on-hand when needed. Instead have to ... I dunno... call in sick/emergency this morning? Ugh. If I'd thought if this earlier in the morning, I could have run in and been back by the start of this window. But my brains weren't awake then, although my body was. Phooey.)
