Kicking tasks and taking names
Mar. 6th, 2010 09:39 pmI bit the bullet and bought the first acceptable substitute planner I could find. Perfect is the enemy of the good.
(I lost one that I was finding to be an *excellent* fit for my needs, even better than my previous favorite, the now-discontinued "month-view/lined-pages/month-view" model. And I didn't want to buy any of the crappy selection still on sale in March, because none were as good as that one. Which I bought in a surplus store, so I can't just go back there. I really ought to learn to write down the model number of these things! ... and on that thought: At-A-Glance LifeLinks Weekly)
Anyway, having this is much better. :-) I have too many projects going on right now to function well while I wait for the lost book to reappear. And when I pro-rate accelerating paralysis over expected shopping time, a $20.50 sticker-price doesn't feel over-priced. As a good friend says: "Money can be exchanged for goods and services."
And for sanity.
And today I did a good job of getting chores done, and generally felt much more relaxed.
For those who might not know yet, my boyfriend is moving in. (I should probably "announce" it already, like to family and friends who don't read my lj.) This has been going on slowly in the background for a few months, but we aim to be done by the end of March, so it's higher-gear time.
Not yet quite "high"-gear time. I expect that will kick in as the end of the month and Passover collide. (And as having my home filled with things for which I do not know where they go --- much more important to me psychologically than them actually being away in those places --- begins to inevitably and subconsciously stress me out.)
So, a good day today, including some time out in the precious sunlight, and I'm hopeful for another one tomorrow, although it will be busier with more fixed-time events. Today was work, but no schedule.
