Recently spent 4 days in Northampton. Did a "long weekend minus the weekend" this past weekend, (plus the 1 day a week before on May 30). Have been off LJ and probably won't fully catch up.

brass_rat, we made cake from scratch and cake from mix.
Went to Le Grand David with TBS folk, who turned out to be simply Erica, Pup, Joelll, and 2 people who met up there. Brother, jweiss, & I accidentally drove to New Hampshire on the way to the North Shore. Recovery was just barely possible.
Rebecca W was absolute trooper and, despite having come down with flu, allowed me to stay over and provided secret ride home Monday morning. Birthday surprise for my mom went off best I could have imagined: I arrived at the kitchen door just as my mother was reading aloud my birthday card to her. Swung open the door (whew, was unlocked) and, flourishing cake, burst in!
Midday Monday did much strolling downtown & in Florence with Barak and Amy. (Encountered friend Julia C from high school unexpectedly and updated each other on lives and contact info.)
Tuesday spent morning with mother and evening having dinner with new neighbor: sister ofmsackton.
The previous Tuesday had dinner with Erikavacon. Glad.
This Wed, I hosted 3 people for a sucessful & tasty dinner -- despite car troubles. Am concerned I may be leaking radiator coolant :-(
Furture days are filling up filling up. I am looking forward a lot to upcoming trip to DC (with jweiss!).
Speaking of future days, am being annoyed at the Boston "Talk Walk Rock" for Israel day. WHY IS IT IN JUNE? Yom HaAtzmaut was May! Even in the Gregorian calenedar, independance was definitely in May. So why is the celebration not until the latter half of June when I don't care any more?
I am going to skip it.
