friday full house

there was a huge crowd at shul this friday. no apparent reason. included a couple faces new to me

oh, and after we were already done with the misheberach for the sick, I realized no-one had mentioned Sharon's name. Odd

Visited the Watertown place. It was, I learned, an "efficiency" -- big kitchen, big bedroom, nothing else. (Ok, a bathroom too). And despite the kitchen room being really wide and fairly long, there's next to no counter space in it. Exactly the same amount as in the tucked-in little un-modern one in the 3.5-room attic apartment.

What the heck is it with people who design a kitchen as if counters are just an annoying side-effect of installing cabinets?

Anyway, it has no laundry, not even in the building, so I won't live there. Am spoilt -- don't care.

ratable = taxable

went out to dinner at Cinderella's with JWeiss after he helped me finish up the classroom redecorating. His bottle cap won him a free coke product (1 in 12 wins!) and mine taught me a new word. ooooooo :-)

on the topic, also picked up 2 or 3 new words from Bee Season so far, but 2 or so weren't in my dictionary (the treasured paper one; somehow googling them broke with the spirit) and the others were boring terms I won't remember anyway. a type of smooth cloth that started with D, and something else i've entirely forgotten.

haven't browsed thru my Random House in a year maybe. it's a lovely book :-) (hardcover)
