too rainy & ick this morning, so i don't want to leave the house; i'm not going to go to the shul.

sukkah building will take place this afternoon. i've at least talked to by upstairs neighbor, with whom i share the driveway. (he'll be affected because we'll both have a bit shorter driveway length to park in.) also made plans -- actually setting a time! -- for that long-put-off refresher in driving a manual so I take his car out of the drive when needed. ... I had been looking forward to this when I first moved in and the idea was brought up. by now i'm nervous.

considering the weather, i'm going to replace the cotton-sheets walls with shower-curtain walls :). this is not a sukkah that's going to get much use, i fear. :(

EDIT:
Had the driving lesson! drove in and out of parking spaces and backed up and recognized/remembered the sound of giving it too much gas before releasing the clutch enough and did circles and pretended to turn-at-intersections and went forward and stalled out on purpose once and overall it was all much easier than I thought it would be. :-D

i'm listening to the radio, "Only A Game". they're talking about something, some author who went around with this football team "the Ravens" for a year, they're interviewing him. And he's talking about the prevalence of evangelical christianity in professional sport especially football. ~~~errr, another reason to kick up my discomfort with college & pro football~~~ And now they've said that concept that skeeves me the most, they've said it almost word for word: "there's this idea that if you're acting 'in god's name' you can do just about anything, as long as you're doing it in god's name". (context: players who would never miss a prayer meting, and go straight from the bowed heads to shouting let's 'kill' those [obscenity]s.) totally word for word this is the stereotype of evangelical christianity that i have, the stereotype that i keep hoping i'm mistaken in. ~~erchh =(
