I was going to post a short random self-factoid before collapsing asleep (it's been a long, good, day), but then I followed a link to this story in which Pres. Bush overrides minimum wage laws for Katrina-hit areas of several states. This pisses me off even more than this one!

I usually try to keep this kind of thing out of my lj, but --- !!!!

harbor fireworks with Katy in honor of Boston's 375th:
there was no music and we missed that,
so both of us made up ways in which the different bursts & patterns represented parts of Boston's history or qualities. hehe we awesome.

plus cambridge "Worlds Fair" plus Committee meeting before school and staff meeting after school and i also had to go get myself in an hour before that to prepare the preparations i didn't do over the week. mm, am glad for a home-base in cambridge that i fell ok going in and out of at need, though. Oh -- and the building-invading homeless guy came back again! at least this time our ed director was not alone and feeling endangered in the building.
from this i learned: "real homeless people," said a woman on the committee, "don't come panhandling." She says she learned this from work in social services: "The shelters let them out at 7:30 and they hide. No one wants to run the risk of getting into trouble with the police, because then the shelters don't let them back in."

looking at bikemap -- i wanna try biking to E Ch now. 'Course I develop this plan once the nice warm summer days are distinctly ending. I think I can do it tho! (just not on a day I intend to arrive 8am)
