I am happy and in a good mood.

Firstly, and most importantly, it has been wonderful unrelieved warm & sunny weather.

Secondly, I have had a very un-rushed weekend.
I found out that the bar mitzvah I was planning to go to was an afternoon service, so I decided that qualified me to sleep late in place of torah-group/musaf. I may start doing this every other week. :-) That lasted late into the evening, so I didn't even try to plan anything for afterwards. And I didn't have to teach a class today (because Tova -- who is great!) was leading an all-day craft program. So I crammed no lesson-planning in. And I drove around leisurely, picking up free things from tag sales all afternoon. (Including a pleasing blocky black Sony Discman which is playing right now.)

I even managed to rang Ahhndrew briefly before he had to leave for work.

And as a special bonus: [livejournal.com profile] doxasticpirate is here. :-)

Asaf's bar mitzvah was a really good time. He was all confident and cool in the service, and that was nice to see. But mainly, Martha & Rick (and all of Martha's family it seems) really know how to throw an enjoyable celebration. My parents came in, and some other long friends (chavurah members) too. Between the meal and the dessert, we built a giant domino run upstairs in the sanctuary. This would never have been on my list of possible bar mitzvah activities, but it was such a good choice. I had a ton of fun. "Casual but Celebratory"

Jill bought a thingy to connect multiple game systems, and I set up for fun and it works well.

I cleared the abandoned junk off our back porch, and it is usable again. I've had to wait for the snow to melt off it :-) I'm glad to have done that, too.
(On the porch I found half a case of diet pepsi (diet pepsi?? who drinks diet pepsi in our house?) that had been out there all winter since the porch first started reaching refrigerator temps and the cans had frozen and busted their tops up, resulting in some amusing shapes.)

As you can tell, I've had enough time to do little projects and I like that. Even though I'm gearing up to ditch this place, I still like improving it's messes. Odd, huh.

And Friday, I saw and enjoyed Battlefield band (with Alasdair).

Plus, as long as I'm collecting positive things, I really like having some discussion spark from my last lj post. Thanks.

Oh, and I *really like* having Barak around -- he's been here days and I can get my head to pretend like he lives here even though I know he's leaving tomorrow. (OK -- and I just overheard Amy in the kitchen ordering, "Philosophize, you monkey!" ... I'm going to go play.)

Sun!
