Today is day 3 of the omer
Apr. 9th, 2004 01:25 amI will be counting with the matrix of the sephirot this Omer. The day that has just begun (Friday) will be Tiferet shel Hesed, compassion in loving-kindness. Thursday that just ended was Gevurah shel Hesed. I want to pay more attention to the passage of time, and this counting comes to me as the perfectly appropriate opportunity.
I've known about this sephira combinations thing before, but never felt interested in counting and contemplating them before. This year, I do. I was home for the end of the weekend and start of Pesach. At lunch on Wednesday, all three of us at the table, my Mom, Dad, and self, all discovered that each of us had been thinking of making the effort to count Omer this year. Interesting.
We'll see how it goes.
In other news, I think I have found a better heath insurance plan I can sign up for. I should be covered by it by the end of the month... just in time to continue not going to the doctor's. But I know it's better than the alternative.
To express with care the emotion that comes up like an overflowing ladle. To drench the recipient with lovingkindness is self-centeredness, not compassion.
