another job

Mira gave my resume to the textbook company where she had been working, and they called me back today. The work sounds like it might be interesting or might be terrible. Mira wrote a case study of some Windows operating system for their next textbook. The woman who called me asked questions about that, so that's significant. Whether or not they want me (and maybe vice versa) it is good to be having another concrete possibility other than the lab.
I am frightened because I do not really know if I want to do this. And because they asked me how much I might be thinking of for a salary. I've really only thought in hourly-wage terms thus far! So, anyway, I ran some multiplication thru the computer and told them a number trying to sound confident. Well, I made it sort of high, because why not? And I'll just have to see what they think of that.

However, today will NOT be my last day in the Kahana Lab. I might remain here until September 1, but I haven't gone thru any details about on what terms I would be staying on. With a raise, I would like to.

Although I had given up hope of speedy accomplishment, last night we picked up the Washer & Drier machines Grace was selling us. She decided to let us have the newer ones that were just in her basement rather than the olderones that were on the 2nd floor, so the job was actually easy(er)!o
