off to Russia

I interrupt the planned post which was to be about the Dar Williams/Ben Folds concert with the news that my best friend is leaving. She's going to Russia next semester, and withdrawing from college this semester.
That makes me really sad, and she won't be back for Brandeis graduation. It's sort of good that she's going to Russia, because I know she loves it there, but that's so far away. =(
